Jaipur. Rajasthan stands tall at the number one position in skilling arena and has won the ‘Skoch Platinum Award 2018’ for Best State in Skill Development at the 55th Skoch Summit held in New Delhi underlying the theme ‘The Economic Manifesto’.
Having been conferred the ‘Skoch Order-of Merit’ earlier at the event, Sameer Kochar, Chairman of SKOCH Group, gave away the award to Director and Joint Secretary, Department of Skills, Employment and Entrepreneurship (DSEE) cum MD, Rajasthan Skill and Livelihoods Corporation (RSLDC), Ngikya Gohain.
DSEE and RSLDC have in the past won two SKOCH Awards. In 2017, it won Silver Award for Smart Governance in Skill Development. In 2018, it won Skoch ‘Platinum Award’ for Best State in Skill Development.
Hon’ble Minister for Commerce and Industry and Civil Aviation Suresh Prabhu was the Chief Guest at the 55th SKOCH Summit, which hosted three power panels – The Economic Manifesto, Deciphering Digital Economy Policy and Ambassadors of Soft Power India.
The Summit witnessed the largest gathering of eminent industry leaders, think tanks, academia and dignitaries from state and central government organisations which included N.K. Singh, Chairman, 15th Finance Commission, Dr. Bibek Debroy, Chairman, Economic Advisory Council to Prime Minister, to name a few.
RSLDC is a nodal agency for skill development and livelihood activities. The Mission of the organisation is to address the address unemployment issue in Rajasthan through formulating and promoting appropriate livelihood strategies for the State’s economically weak working population and fulfilling Government’s larger vision of attaining inclusive economic growth.
